I'm trying to get in the habit of painting every day again, I need the practice. I wanted to do a face with more alive skin tones, I don't think is is terrible but there are a lot of things wrong, so I guess my next painting will be of another living person.
I have to be careful what sort of makeup I use, so it doesn't run down my face like this- it has been over 110 degrees the last few weeks.
I used to work in an arts and craft supply store, and some nights this one girl would come in to shop- she was like a chubby, younger Courtney Love before she got a makeover. This girl had lipstick SMEARED over her lips like a pack of crazy monkeys chased her down and restrained her while one applied her makeup. I think she must have been batshit insane. At the time I didn't appreciate her eccentricity, but now I miss seeing her.
We also had a customer who looked like a middle aged Pippi Longstocking come in a few times, she rode a bicycle and had pet mice on her. I don't know where she kept them when she was actually riding her bike, but inside the store they crawled on her and made my boss paranoid that they'd get loose and infest the store. I got to hold one and it crapped in my hand- it traumatized me a bit.
the amount of red in the skintones and the purple of the hair compliments the bright red very nicely. the structure of the face itself is very pleasant, too.
i can't wait for the portrait of the the middle-aged-pippi longstockgins-rat lady.

The butter legion- a socialist movement/mass colab project I started, to trigger artistic change and evolution in Da artists (mainly my watchers), to make them more active and dedicated on DA. Now 170 people strong and growing... A "dangerous cult"? a "new religion"? "artistic version of fight club" or "communist movement"? You decide!
Hello there! This news article is the result of a thumb share thread I posted few days ago on the dA forum along with pictures from my favorites. I hope you enjoy them.
