I've been copying Grace G. Drayton art for a few days and finally did a few ink drawings of Dolly Dingle-ish characters. I put them in scenes that felt right to me, this one is more sketch-ish and the other one I did (that I'm also posting tonight) was more inspired by illustrations in some children's books from the 20's that I have.
I had Dolly Dingle paper dolls when I was little and I loved them, I found copies of the books of paper dolls a few years ago on eBay and bought them. I love the way Drayton drew chubby little legs- so cute! |
