Ice Cream Antisocial

These are old, from maybe 2 1/2 years ago! But I wanted to post something, and my portfolio teacher was helping me take pictures of these today (although this is just a picture from my crappy camera phone). The assignment was to work with an "Ice Cream Social" theme. Inspirations for these included: the little girl on the Milky candy package, an old ceramic sugar bowl my mother made (from a mold) when she was young (a little boy in a straw hat, he also has his tongue sticking out like the Milky candy girl), art by Yoshimoto Nara, and the creepy twin girls from The Shining. 
If I were to make these now... well, my sculpting is a little less crappy, and besides overall less crappiness I would try to make the cones more consistent (although I'm still happy with the overall effect and texture, which I made my pressing clay into the back of a flexible scrub brush that was in the studio). I would use acrylics instead of underglaze and ceramic glaze, just to get more consistent results, especially on the ice cream scoops and the glossy black in their hair (in which clay peeks though, despite my having applying many thin coats of black underglaze.
